Strategic Historic Site Conservation on a Budget
The restoration project for Castello Fienga was developed within the constraints of a limited budget, requiring a strategic approach to identify and prioritize the most significant interventions for the historic site conservation and enhancement of the ancient complex.
The project focused on the creation of a new visitor centre, the consolidation and conservation of the most relevant archaeological remains, and the design of a new lighting system aimed at improving the readability and accessibility of the site during both daytime and evening use.
Multidisciplinary Approach to Architectural Heritage Preservation
The intervention involved the coordination of a multidisciplinary team including structural engineers, archaeologists, and conservators, ensuring an integrated approach between historic site conservation, technical requirements, and visitor experience.
Through targeted architectural solutions, the project maximizes public accessibility while respecting the stratified layers of the castle’s history, transforming budget constraints into an opportunity for sustainable and respectful design.
